Melissa Locher, NP

Melissa Locher is an Adult Nurse Practitioner who has been with Colorado Cardiovascular Center since it opened in 2000, except for a short period when she lived in North Carolina. She is certified as an Adult nurse Practitioner, but has specialized in Cardiology for her entire career, beginning in 1993. She has worked in areas of Cardiology including Cardiac Intensive Care, Cardiac Telemetry, Chest Pain Emergency Centers, and Cardiac Rehabilitation for both outpatients and inpatients prior to coming to CCC.

She completed the Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver in 2000, graduating with a GPA of 3.97. She completed her Nursing studies at Northhampton Community College and the University of Colorado. She developed many of the quality assurance protocols and educational pamphlets we use at CCC.

Her area of interest is in coronary disease prevention and management, which includes performing and interpreting stress tests and advanced and routine lipid tests. She is especially interested in providing excellent education to her patients so they can better understand their condition and/or risk factors for disease progression.
