Kara Rao, PA-C
Kara is the newest addition to the Colorado Cardiovascular Center team. She began her career as a Physician Assistant in Gainesville, Florida where she worked for a diverse group of specialized Interventional Cardiologists. There she discovered her interest in acute care and spent the majority of her time treating patients in the hospital with acute cardiovascular problems.
She attended the University of Florida on an academic and athletic scholarship where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences. She played varsity soccer for the university and became interested in medicine after spending many hours in the training room with injuries. She went on to complete the Physician Assistant program at the University of Florida, one of the top Physician Assistant programs in the country.
Kara’s area of interest is in preventative medication, specifically lifestyle modifications in the prevention of cardiovascular disease. Her background in nutrition has enhanced her ability to help her patients make changes towards this healthier lifestyle.
Kara brings a new energy and fresh perspective to our team, and she is quickly establishing a reputation in Colorado for her ability to diagnose various acute cardiovascular problems.
